Not Quite Folk
Live · Open premises, lights on · Plot 27, the Work Quarter
A small UK studio making presenters that are openly AI, for Instagram and TikTok. Oriel is the first. A project of Adapt Progress Evolve.

The story
Not Quite Folk is a small UK studio that makes AI presenter personas for Instagram and TikTok. They are openly AI and never pretend to be human. It is a project of Adapt Progress Evolve, live since 27 October 2026.
Oriel is the first persona. She explains useful consumer and maker tech as @hey_oriel on TikTok and Instagram. A violet mark on her left cheek, the Ember Trace, is the sign that she is not human. She never claims to have used a product, and posts about the studio's own products are marked as ads. 27 more faces are in casting.
The studio makes talking-head video from a script in the persona's own voice, multi-camera takes cut like a show, augmented video with effects over and behind the presenter, and daily news reels with sourced facts and a claims check.
Brands can enquire about booking Oriel at hello@notquitefolk.com. Booking is not open yet.
