The story
Paws of London is a directory of dog-friendly places across London: cafés, pubs, restaurants, shops, parks and more. There are 874 venues covering all 33 boroughs, so wherever you are, there's probably something close by.
You can search by area, dog policy and amenities (water bowls, dog menus and so on), or browse borough by borough. Prefer to just look? Use the interactive map. There's also Walkies, our published dog-walking routes, for when the plan is a long wander rather than a pint.
Here's the bit we care about most. Every listing shows what has been confirmed and when it was checked. Every one is editorially checked, which means a person reviewed the venue's own website and reviews before it went on the site. We publish how we check listings, and there's a data-quality page with live figures. Policies change, though, so call ahead. We've also started contacting venues so they can confirm their own details.

Who it is for. Dog owners, dog walkers, and visitors to London who want an answer before they leave the house. You know the scene: you arrive at a café with a dog on the lead, and the sign, the staff, or the weather makes the call for you. Paws of London exists to move that moment earlier. It tells you whether a cafe, pub, restaurant, hotel, shop or service welcomes dogs, and how recently anyone looked.
How it works. Behind every listing sits a layered process. A person reviews the venue's own website and recent reviews before listing it. Venues come in from public business listings, and websites are read for any explicit statement about dogs. Owners can send corrections and reviews too.
What makes it different. Plenty of guides say "dog-friendly" and leave it there. This one tells you how it knows. Every live listing has been editorially checked, all 874 of them, and the site says plainly what that means: a considered check, not the venue's word and not a live guarantee. It doesn't let its own check outrank the venue. Where a website says dogs are not allowed, the website wins.
Where it stands now. Direct confirmation from venues is the next step. Outreach to venues began on 2 September 2026, and the site publishes how many listings the venue itself has confirmed, rather than tucking that number away.
What it deliberately does not do. It doesn't promise that a policy is current. Policies change, so you still call ahead, especially for anything time-sensitive: opening hours, indoor access, breed or size restrictions. It doesn't claim a dog-policy check for vets, groomers, pet shops, daycare or trainers either. Dogs are the customer there, so those are listed by category and nothing more. It's a guide that shows its working, and leaves the final phone call to you.
